PIZZA SLICE
Take on the role of Tonio and run the family business left to you by your grandfather. Battle competitors, manage inventory, and craft genuine Italian pizzas. Your choices will determine if you reach the summit of success or face bankruptcy and disgrace your family.

PROBLEMS
• LACK OF THEMATIC IMMERSION:
The previously designed”sketchbook” motif was too neutral and failed to convey the energy and humor of a pizza-themed game.
• WEAK VISUAL HIERARCHY:
The split between the menu on the left and the character on the right created a disjointed focus. The stark white background of the pages was visually fatiguing and distracted from the environmental art.
• UNDERSTANDING BRANDING:
The logo was small and tucked away, resulting in low brand recognition for the game’s title.
• STATIC COMPOSITION:
The interface felt like a flat overlay rather than an integrated part of the game world, missing the opportunity to build excitement before the gameplay starts.
SOLUTIONS
• INTEGRATED ENVIRONMENTAL UI:
Replaced the restrictive book frame with a dynamic, panoramic scene. The menu is now presented on a „kitchen order slip” making the UI feel like a natural part of the game’s world.
• HERO BRANDING:
Centered and enlarged the logo to act as the composition’s anchor. I introduced a „tomato sauce” letterbox effect to frame the action, adding character and thematic consistency.
• ENHANCED NAVIGATION & FOCUS:
Implemented a high-contrast highlight (vibrant orange) for selected items to ensure immediate visual feedback and cleaned up the typography for better legibility at a distance.
• DYNAMIC VISUAL FLOURISH:
Added „flying” ingredients (mushrooms, sauce splashes) to create a sense of depth and motion, signaling a fun and chaotic gameplay experience.
• MODERN UX STANDARDS:
Updated the hintbuttons to a cleaner, more readable style consistent with modern platform standards, improved user flows in certain areas.
